Inside the new Japanese restaurant Alba in Dubai Opera

Located near Dubai Opera, it looks set to be a stylish space.

Dubai Opera is famous for welcoming world-class acts, from dancers to DJs. Now, it is set to welcome a brand-new restaurant, Alba. Created by the hospitality group MetaFoodies Restaurants Management, the new Japanese restaurant has unveiled its dazzling décor.

Alba means bright and fortunate in Latin. The concept describes itself as a MediterrAsian restaurant, which will have Japanese influences. If the latest renders are anything to go by, it looks set to be a stylish space.

Alba in Dubai Opera boasts a dramatic entrance that includes a lit-up black logo on a grey and white wall. The dark doors have golden circular handles, which open into the grand venue. The space will boast a grand staircase, statement light features, high ceilings and light as well as dark brown tiles. Plus, the walls will include Japanese-inspired murals, and pots lining the shelves.

Visitors to Alba in Dubai Opera will be able to choose between countertop seats, long banquettes and soft seats in light, dark and floral patterns. The décor includes dark wooden tables with low-lit lamps. In a nod to the theatrical location, we even spotted lights with bowler hat lamp shades – à la the musical, Cabaret. Plus, there will be several bars – one is circular with wine glasses and bottles lining the top, and another has fringed features around the edge.

KOJ Interiors is behind the design, which uses high-quality materials and is currently under construction. The team previously worked on Blind Tiger, Miya, Roar Fitness, SALT, Tawa and Trattoria.

Dubai Opera is also welcoming the new restaurant Bisou. The name means kiss in French, and the logo includes lips. The menu combines French and Middle Eastern cuisines.
