SeaWorld Abu Dhabi reveals new details about the marvellous megaproject

The family-friendly attraction is scheduled to open on 23 May.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, a marine life theme park on Yas Island, is scheduled to open on 23 May. In the run up to the opening, it has revealed new details about the family-friendly attraction themes, and we are buzzing with excitement.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s realms include Abu Dhabi Ocean, One Ocean, Rocky Point, and MicroOcean, which aim share a story about the interconnectivity between life on earth and the ocean.

The SeaWorld Abu Dhabi experience begins in the Abu Dhabi Ocean realm, where guests will learn about the Arabian Gulf and the UAE’s tradition of pearl diving. The realm includes the Arabic restaurant Matbakh Ummi, the café Dallat Al Bahr and the pastry shop Lugaima. Plus, there will be a souk paying homage to the capital.

The education team will share knowledge about the 30 species of marine life native to the UAE. We’re talking sea snakes, sea turtles, and dugongs. Plus, guests can interact with crustaceans, sharks and rays.

The One Ocean realm includes the immersive show One Epic Ocean. The film is shown on a 360-degree screen, which is 15 metres high, 218-metre wide, and uses choreographed drones. The films follows a young Emirati woman's adventures in the Arabian Gulf. Plus, the Animal Care Centre boasts state-of-the-art veterinary equipment, which provides the highest standard of animal welfare.

The Rocky Point realm features hidden coves, a rare opportunity to interact with sea lions, and Rocky Point Amphitheatre with sea lion presentations. The boardwalk-inspired snack stand includes Pretzel Point, which serves freshly baked pretzels.

The MicroOcean realm plays with visitors’ perceptions, as they get swept up by the tides and shrink to the size of plankton. The realm highlights the role of small marine life. Plus, it is home to family-friendly rides, a play area for the kids and characters as well as performers.

The children’s activities include Kelp Climb and the Explorer's Sea Base. Children can enrol in the park wide game, S·E·A Guardian Games, which includes challenges across all realms. Plus, winners are rewarded for their progress.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, we’re excited.
