A collaborative dinner that celebrates Arab heritage, Japanese craft, and the joy of sharing.
Chefs Akmal Anuar and Khaled Alsaadi are joining forces for the Many Hands culinary series at Goldfish Sushi & Yakitori Abu Dhabi. The one-night-only event takes place at the Marina Mall restaurant on Thursday, 16 October, with two seatings from 6pm to 8.30pm and 9pm to 11pm. The evening promises an intimate showcase of technique, storytelling, and togetherness.
Designed as a single, cohesive experience, the set menu is meant for sharing. Each course reflects a dialogue between the chefs’ roots and their respect for Japanese influences. The meal opens with Maraq, a rich meat-based soup lifted by shrimp wontons and onions. It continues with Smoked Eggplant and Bukhari rice presented nigiri style, and a Harissa and Walnut dip served with soft, pillowy Shokupan bread.
A whole lamb then becomes the centrepiece, celebrated through multiple preparations that spotlight flavour and method. Expect Honey-glazed Lamb Ribs with smoked furikake, Sticky Teriyaki Lamb Shank, flame-kissed Lamb Skewers, Lamb Floss perfumed with Majboos spices, and Fahsa, the slow-cooked stew beloved across the region. Dessert brings a warm finish with Cinnamon Butter Pound Cake, honey ice cream, and Sidr honey.
Chef Akmal Anuar said: “Many Hands is about more than food; it’s about connection. When chefs cook together, ideas move freely, techniques merge, and something deeply human happens around the table.” Chef Khaled Alsaadi added: “Our cuisine carries memory, family, and place. Many Hands lets us bring that spirit to the table, together, through craft and respect.”
With more than two decades of experience, Chef Akmal is known for popular dining concepts including Goldfish Sushi & Yakitori, Harummanis, and Funkcoolio. Chef Khaled, an Emirati culinary artist, has honed his skills at Nobu, Hakkasan, Ossiano, and Bread Street Kitchen and is celebrated for elevating local cuisine with a global lens.
Priced at AED 285 per person for food only, the event offers a memorable meal that balances nostalgia with innovation.
Seats are limited across both services.
