The alternative film festival which runs from 29 May to 4 June at Manarat Al Saadiyat is a must-visit for all film lovers. With a stunning line-up of movies and talented filmmakers, this festival is sure to captivate you.

The CineMAS festival is all about showcasing the best of indie cinema and exploring different themes through inspiring films. It explores diverse themes and features inspiring talks and film dialogues led by renowned regional and international speakers from the film community - leaving you motivated and enlightened. It also aims to showcase the many facets of culture with communities through a rich programme that keeps growing every year. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and discover new and exciting cinema.

The festival has previously showcased many memorable films such as Feathers, Osha, The Falconer and many others, reflecting on different perspectives such as nomadism, colonialism and freedom. 

The year's line-up curated by Hind Mezaina features films that tell unique stories from the Arab region and beyond. It also explores regional and international stories that dive into different themes including family, science, and spirituality.

One of the festival's highlights is the Tunisian drama Under the Fig Trees by Erige Sehiri - which will also be the opening film of the festival. Under The Fig depicts the summer harvest of young women in northwest Tunisia. Other films in the line-up include Without Her, by Arian Vazirdaftari - a drama-thriller that explores the different realities of two women, The Dam by Ali Cherri - a Sudanese drama, Foragers by Jumana Manna which is a Palestinian documentary and many others.
