If you thought the UAE had no arts and culture, think again. Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation has launched its new season of exciting events. The venue brings together exhibitions, performances, talks, tours, workshops and artist residency programmes. Located in Qasr Al Hosn, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi is behind the concept.
Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation showcases exciting exhibitions. A Way of Surviving, A Way of Life is by Zineb Sedira, and runs from 3 October 2024 to 8 March 2025. Learn about her films that explore identity and cultural activism. Plus, upcoming exhibitions include Emirati Crafts and The Art of Weaving.
The programme includes music, dance and theatre performances. On 20 September, visitors can enjoy the theatre show, Ihtiraq Shamaa, which is written and directed by Ahmed Abdullah Rashid. The show shares what it’s like to lose your first love. On 4 and 5 October, there is a musical production of Tom Fletcher’s There's A Monster In Your Show. It follows performers who soon discover they are not alone on stage. On 11 and 12 October, Swan Lake on Ice is brought to life by the Imperial Ice Stars.
Highlights include Merci, Charles by Hayk Petrosyan: The Centenary of Charles Aznavour on 26 October; Authentic Flamenco: Daniel Casares on 1 and 2 November; Sydney Opera House's Meeting Mozart on 8 and 9 November; SB Circle and Coreyah on 6 December; and Mezzotono on 8 December.
The Cultural Foundation's public programme includes talks, tours, workshops and events. The Foundation will host a talk on 4 October with the artists Zineb Sedira and Nujoom Alghanem. Plus, there will be monthly author series at Abu Dhabi Children's Library.
Entrance to Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation is free, and ticket prices for performances start from AED 30.
