From cultural history to award-winning works, the 2025/26 season promises plenty to explore.
Louvre Abu Dhabi continues to cement its place as one of the region’s most dynamic cultural landmarks. More than just a museum, it’s a place where history, heritage, and modern creativity converge. This year, the Saadiyat Island institution unveils an exciting new season of exhibitions that promise to engage, educate, and inspire — whether you’re a seasoned art lover or a curious first-time visitor.
Mamluks: Legacy of an Empire
The 2025/26 season opens with a sweeping exploration of the Mamluk Sultanate, which ruled from 1250 to 1517. Mamluks: Legacy of an Empire brings together a rare collection of artefacts from Egypt, the Levant, parts of Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia. The exhibition reveals how the Mamluks left a lasting imprint on architecture, science, trade, and Islamic art, while offering a glimpse into a time when Cairo stood as a beacon of knowledge and power. The exhibition runs from 17 September 2025 to 25 January 2026.
Art Here 2025 and the Richard Mille Art Prize
Now in its fifth edition, Art Here returns under the theme Shadows. In partnership with Richard Mille, this regional art platform invites artists from the Middle East and Japan to reflect on the role of shadow and light in shaping space and perception. Expect large-scale, site-specific installations that blur the lines between culture, nature, and design. One standout artist will take home the coveted Richard Mille Art Prize. The exhibition runs from 8 October to 28 December 2025.
Picasso, the Figure
Rounding out the season is Picasso, the Figure, a major exhibition tracing Pablo Picasso’s evolving interpretation of the human form. Featuring works across multiple decades, the showcase spans the artist’s classical, cubist, and surrealist periods — with a mix of paintings, drawings, and sculpture. The exhibition runs from 19 January to 31 May 2026.
Alongside these exhibitions, visitors can look forward to a series of immersive experiences, family-friendly workshops, and cultural programming that reflect the mission of Louvre Abu Dhabi to make art accessible to all.
