One of stand-up’s biggest global names returns to the capital for Abu Dhabi Showdown Week.
Russell Peters is heading back to Abu Dhabi, marking a major comedy moment for the capital this autumn. The Canadian superstar will perform at Etihad Arena on Sunday, 25 October 2026, as part of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week, bringing his unmistakable mix of cultural observations, quick-fire crowd work and razor-sharp improvisation to one of the region’s biggest stages.
Presented by Live Nation Middle East in partnership with FACT Magazine, the show promises a no-holds-barred night that has made Russell Peters a household name across continents. Whether he’s dissecting everyday life or turning audience interactions into the punchline, his sets are famously unpredictable, delivered with the pace and precision of someone who has spent decades perfecting his craft.

Named by Rolling Stone as one of the “50 Best Comics of All Time,” Peters first broke through in 2004 with his breakout special Comedy Now!, then went on to become an arena-level phenomenon. He made history as the first comedian to sell out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, London’s O2 Arena and New York’s Madison Square Garden, cementing his status as a global touring force long before streaming specials became the norm.
Off stage, his résumé is equally stacked. Peters has released a run of fan-favourite specials, including Outsourced, Red, White and Brown, Almost Famous, and Deported, as well as screen appearances in films such as Chef and Source Code. More recently, he expanded his platform with his podcast Culturally Cancelled and popped up in Netflix’s The Indian Detective.
This won’t be Peters’ first time in the UAE either. He has become a familiar name in the region, with his most recent local performance taking place in October 2025 at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena.
Abu Dhabi Showdown Week, meanwhile, continues to build momentum as a city-wide celebration that goes beyond the UFC, spanning headline acts, nightlife events, dining offers and fitness experiences. While the full 2026 programme has yet to be announced, Peters’ announcement signals a strong start.
Tickets to see Russell Peters live in Abu Dhabi are on sale now, and demand is expected to be high.
