The family-friendly event runs throughout the Holy Month.

Ramadan Nights have returned to Hayy Jameel in Jeddah. Taking place throughout the Holy Month, the event features family-friendly activities and will bring together artists, chefs, designers, and more.

Ramadan Nights at Hayy Jameel brings a diverse programme of film screenings, restaurants, shopping and workshops. The event celebrates community, culture and wellbeing, and aims to cater to all ages.

Hayy Markets showcases local tradition and heritage. The shops sell artisanal crafts and custom designs, which support Jeddah’s creative community. The food stalls offer a range of food and drinks, from local vendors to the newly opened Sofia’s Bistro in Saha.

Ramadan Nights at Hayy Jameel hosts a range of interactive workshops, games, talks, performances, sound healing, poetry and storytelling sessions. Look out for film screenings, which share stories from the region.

A highlight of Ramadan Nights will be the specially curated markets. Spread across Rukn Hayy, Fenaa Hayy, and Saha, the community courtyard, these markets will feature a selection of local fashion, books, handcrafted items, and design pieces. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of local culinary delights, traditional board games, and live Oud performances.

This year, Ramadan Nights: Hakawati Hayy invites you to step into that tradition through the world of puppets, shared rituals and timeless storytelling. Spanning eight evenings, the programme draws inspiration from the hakawati, the traditional storyteller, while celebrating folktales from the Hejaz and the spirit of togetherness across cultures, space and time.

Created in collaboration with the Arab Puppet Theatre Foundation, alongside local creatives, makers and community clubs, Ramadan Nights: Hakawati Hayy offers a rich calendar of activities that spotlights the history of Arab puppetry. From classic rituals to contemporary interpretations, the programme explores the craft of performance and shadow play through collective imagination, play and community connection. The full programme runs during the second and third weeks of Ramadan, from 9:30pm until 2am.

Art Jameel manages Hayy Jameel, which is a dedicated arts complex and creative hub. In 2018, Jameel Arts Centre opened in Dubai. In 2021, Hayy Jameel opened in Jeddah in line with Saudi Vision 2030. In Arabic, the word “hay” refers to a neighbourhood.

Ramadan Nights at Hayy Jameel is free, but visitors must book in advance.
