Yes, it's the same one where Tom Cruise landed.

Remember when Tom Cruise landed in Abu Dhabi earlier this summer for the premiere of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning? It was the first flight into the capital's new Midfield Terminal which played a significant role in the movie as some of the most thrilling stunts were shot here. You'll be excited to know that the airport will be opening to the public soon.

Formerly known as the Midfield Terminal, Terminal A is set to begin operations in November 2023. This addition to Abu Dhabi is poised to transform the aviation scene and solidify the capital's reputation as a top-notch travel destination.

Terminal A Abu Dhabi

So what makes Terminal A so special apart from Tom Cruise's dramatic entrance? Well, it's not just about the size — although it's among the largest airport terminals globally, covering 742,000 square metres. It's all about the seamless and futuristic experience it promises to offer passengers.

Imagine strolling through an airport where biometric systems make your journey from check-in to boarding gate an effortless breeze. Self-service kiosks, streamlined security checkpoints, and state-of-the-art baggage handling systems will redefine the way you travel — much like what MI7 showed.

Once operational, Terminal A will be able to accommodate up to 45 million passengers annually, process 11,000 travellers per hour, and handle 79 aircraft simultaneously. With efficiency and sustainability at its helm, Terminal A has also been designed with your comfort in mind. You'll find lounges, relaxation zones, spa facilities, and 163 retail and food and beverage outlets. It's practically a mini city within an airport!

So whether you're a frequent flyer, a movie buff, or simply looking for a reason to explore Abu Dhabi, this new terminal is set to amaze and delight.
