The action-comedy short film, titled The Chase for Carrera, marks the 60th anniversary of the Carrera model.
Ryan Gosling has once again teamed up with luxury Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer, this time to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its motoring-inspired Carrera model. The celebration took place in London and was attended by long-time TAG Heuer ambassadors Patrick Dempsey and Ryan himself, along with Jacob Elordi, Alexandra Daddario, Kit Connor, and Milly Alcock.
The highlight of the event was the premiere of a new short film produced by David Leitch's 87 North banner and directed by Nash Edgerton, starring Ryan and Vanessa Bayer. The action-comedy short film, The Chase for Carrera, is a meta piece in which Ryan, playing himself, attempts to steal the new TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox from a film set. He goes on a run in his Porsche while Vanessa's unrelenting prop master gives chase.
While the short film features Ryan as the main character, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Glassbox model is the primary focus of the story.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox model offers a modern approach to its classic predecessor, originally created in 1963 by TAG Heuer's former CEO Jack Heuer. Jack was heavily inspired by the spectacularly dangerous and rowdy Carrera Panamericana race, historically held in Mexico. The streamlined silhouette of the original Carrera model was made to take on high-speed adventures, and that ethos still defines Carrera models now six decades later.
TAG Heuer has been collaborating with Ryan for quite some time. The actor sported a TAG Heuer Carrera Three Hands in last year's Netflix spy thriller, The Grey Man and will be seen wearing the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph in The Fall Guy. Regarding his experience working with TAG Heuer, Ryan said, "I think what impressed me most was just how fearless and creatively versatile the team at TAG Heuer is."
