The hotel will host a full day of family activities in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

On Friday, 17 September 2021, Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi will celebrate their fifth Lantern and Moon Festival. Featuring live musical performances, workshops for the little ones and a lavish brunch, the festival is expected to create a magical atmosphere overlooking the waters of Khor Al Maqta. 

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated in China and Vietnam and is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is said to be the brightest and roundest.

Lantern and Moon Festival

The festivities will kick off with a lavish brunch across three of the hotel’s restaurants – Shang Palace, Hoi An and Sofra – from 1pm to 4pm. Priced at AED 279 (soft beverages), AED 349 (house beverages) and AED 459 (bubbly), the expansive buffet brunch will also include beach access. Guests can indulge in an array of live cooking stations while being entertained by violinist, Beata Just. Children can look forward to an exciting lantern-making activity and chocolate workshop. 

Lantern and Moon Festival

Celebrations will continue with a Mid-Autumn Festival dinner at Shang Palace and Hoi An, offering a sharing-style celebratory set menu in an authentic setting complimented by live music played on traditional Asian instruments. The Mid-Autumn Festival dinner experience will be available from 6pm to 11pm and is priced at AED188 per person, inclusive of soft drinks, with an additional charge of AED 60 for the house beverage package.

Lantern and Moon Festival

In the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival, guests can also purchase a selection of Shang Palace’s Mooncakes that are available in elegant boxes of four, priced at AED 288 until 21 September 2021.
