The immersive experience creates a Bollywood set with dancers, music and props.
If the names Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan mean anything to you, then you’ll be thrilled to hear about Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Secret Bollywood Soiree. The event is part of the museum’s Bollywood Superstars: A Short Story of Indian Cinema exhibition, and promises to be a fun-filled immersive experience.
Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Secret Bollywood Soiree takes place on 10, 11, 17 and 18 February, and pulls back the curtain on the Indian film industry. If you’ve ever dreamt of being on a Bollywood film set, this maybe the closest you’ll get to the action. Guests are invited to dress the part and wear Indian outfits.
Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Secret Bollywood Soiree creates a behind-the-scenes tour of an imaginary movie, Mumbai Nights 2. The action-packed event includes costumes, music, props and, of course, dancers. Plus, you may be asked to get your Aishwarya on and take centre stage.
Proving that art isn’t just confined to canvases, Bollywood Superstars celebrates India’s film industry. The exhibition runs until 4 June and explores how India represents art and civilisation through film. If you thought that Hollywood was the biggest film industry in the world, think again, as India produces more than 1,500 films a year. Learn about the history of Indian cinema, from its beginnings in the 19th century up to present day Deepika Padukone flicks.
Tickets to Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Secret Soiree start from AED 190. The event starts at 7.30pm, and there is an after-party at 9pm. Get ready to screw the light bulb.
