The Irish pub will open in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Dubai is home to iconic pubs, from The Golden Lion on the QE2 to The Irish Village. Now, it’s set to welcome a celebrity pub, Black Forge Inn. Ultimate Fighting Champion superstar Conor McGregor has announced earlier this year that he is bringing his Dublin pub to the UAE, and here’s what we know.
Conor hails from Dublin, Ireland, and drew inspiration for the pub from his hometown of Crumlin. Now, Black Forge Inn’s local charm will be expanding across the world, and it might be the closest you’ll get to rubbing shoulders with the sports star.
Taking to Instagram recently, Conor shared a photo that he captioned, “Mashallah,” along with the UAE flag emoji. He also tagged Black Forge Inn, implying that the opening of his pub in the country could be sooner than imagined. While more details are yet to be unveiled, we can guarantee that once open, this bar will attract thousands of the MMA fighter’s fans — amongst many others.
Front of House Manager, Liam Flynn had earlier shared the news with Dublin Live: “We’re going Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Then it’s going to get exciting, we’re going to Boston, New York, Chicago, and then we’re going to London. And all of these pubs abroad are going to be called The Black Forge Inn.”
Conor is no stranger to the UAE, as he has been in the capital before for the UFC Fight Island series, and opened a pop-up of Black Forge Inn for the F1 races. The pop-up welcomed guests including DJ Mason, DJ Rob Forrest, DJ Niall Conlon, and Fearghal O’Neill. Across the country, Conor has been spotted in Emerald Palace Kempinski on Palm Jumeirah and on a private yacht in Yas Bay.
Conor is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight and lightweight double champion. He is currently ranked at number 14 in the UFC lightweight rankings. As a mixed martial artist, he is trained in boxing, kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, karate, taekwondo and capoeira.
