The London-born festival will take place in November 2024.
Brits will be familiar with Wireless, as the music festival has had headliners ranging from Kanye West to Rihanna. Wireless Festival Middle East is returning to the UAE this year, promising to bring A-list acts to Abu Dhabi. The event was originally set to take place in March, and is now being rescheduled to November.
Details about Wireless Festival Middle East 2024 are limited – there are no line-up or ticket prices yet, but judging from last year's sold-out event, which saw 25,000 music fans descend on Etihad Park, it’s expected to be a showstopper. The festival has attracted the biggest names in the music industry, with last year's lineup featuring Travis Scott, Roddy Ricch, M.I.A., and Young Stunners.
James Craven, President of Live Nation Middle East, stated, “After careful consideration and with the utmost dedication to providing the best musical experience for our attendees, we have decided to move the date of the 2024 edition of Wireless Festival to November. This change aims to create an even more unforgettable and enjoyable event, allowing us to curate a lineup that surpasses all expectations,”
Much like last year, Wireless Festival Middle East 2024 will feature two stages, ensuring continuous entertainment for revellers. The event will also feature extensive food and beverage options, immersive activations, and a range of engaging entertainment options.
Wireless Festival started life in London’s Hyde Park back in 2005 and has since taken place across the city. Plus, it has taken place in Leeds and Birmingham, and outside of the UK in Frankfurt, Germany and Abu Dhabi.
Over the years, Wireless Festival has created memorable musical moments. Drake booed the rain away, Prince Harry was once spotted in the crowd, Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne rolled above the crowd in an inflatable bubble, and Kanye West ranted for 20 minutes about creative freedom and Nike.
While the line-ups are usually enough to get revellers excited, there are often surprise guests: Drake welcomed Nicki Minaj, Justin Timberlake brought out Jay-Z, and Jay-Z shared the stage with Rihanna.
If you can’t wait for Wireless there are plenty of great concerts and festivals on the horizon. Alicia Keys, Boyz II Men, John Legend, and Khalid are just some of the names set to perform in the UAE in the coming months.
